Cultivation Steps
Preparing the Nursery:
The soil is well plowed, and organic and phosphate fertilizers are added. Seeds are sown in narrow rows, 10 cm apart, ensuring regular irrigation and shading to promote germination.
Transplanting the Seedlings:
After 40 days of nursery growth, when the seedlings reach a height of 10-15 cm, they are transplanted into the permanent field. The seedlings are planted in wet soil with a spacing of 40 cm between plants in old soils and 50 cm in new soils.
Irrigation and Fertilization:
Regular irrigation is maintained according to the plant’s needs and soil type. Nitrogen and potassium fertilizers should be applied at different growth stages to ensure a high-quality yield.
Medicinally Used Part
The primary part of the chamomile plant used for medicinal purposes is the dried flower heads, which contain essential oils and active compounds utilized in tea preparation, medical formulations, and cosmetic products.
